1 Why does the app ask for File Access Permission?
Find Near Me uses a local database to store the search keywords and locations which you have entered into the application and retrieve/restore them back on next launch. We DONT access any of your personal files or transmit any out of your device. The File Access Permission is needed for Find Near Me to access this local database and retrieve/store values. This is perfectly safe and there are no privacy concerns around this.
2 Why is my GPS Location sometimes not available?
This is a known issue with the Blackberry Playbook and should be fixed by Reasearch In Motion in future software updates for the device.
3 How does Find Near Me find my location in case my Blackberry Playbook fails to access my GPS Location?
Find Near Me uses your IP Address to find your location using a reliable IP to Location service. Please bear in mind that although this location isnt precise its the only alternative in absence of the GPS Location.
If your GPS position is way off, we suggest searching for your current locations address Street name, City, Country in the Search Locations view and add this location to your Search Locations. Find Near Me will use this location to display the results.
