Four seasons of Oku-Nikko

Ascending the Iroha hillside from within Nikko City, one comes to a tableland area over 1,250 meters above sea level. This area is known as OkuNikko, a place of untouched nature a markedly different world. From the 1,269 meterhigh Lake Chuzenji and Mount Nantai, and continuing on to Senjogahara and Lake Yuno at 1,400 meters, one can see the changes in the flora ecology as the hot spring origins and location above sea level increase in height. This is a collection of photos of the four seasons in OkuNikko, including shots taken with particular attention to water scenery and light.
