Ecalc USA is a program that no electrician or electrical engineer should be without. Ecalc USA calculates many common formulas and tables based on the National Electrical Code. Ecalc USA contains 7 separate programs to make electrical calculations a snap.
The first is a full function calculator with foot, inch, fractional inch capabilities.
The second is a transformer calculator that calculates the full load amperage or kva of a transformer. Both primary and secondary sides are calculated.
The third program is a voltage drop calculator which makes complex voltage drop calculations simple. Punch in your numbers and Ecalc USA will tell you your maximum wire lengths, voltage drop percentages, and actual voltage drop.
The fourth program performs the complex task of calculating the required pipe size based on a list of wires you input. This function returns total wire area, percent fill allowed, percent fill, and required pipe size.
The fifth program calculates the allowable ampacity of wire. This program also calculates derating factors based on number of wires and ambient temperature.
The sixth program returns the NEMA part number for a receptacle based on user input criteria including number of poles, voltage, phases, and amperage for locking and nonlocking devices.
The seventh is called handy stuff and does common conversions, drill/tap sizes and resistor color codes.
All these programs are contained under a single simple menu system called Ecalc USA and represented by a lightning bolt icon.
