What is stamped on the egg?
Since 1 January 2004, all eggs offered for retail sale in Europe have had to bear uniform labelling. KAT introduced this requirement back in early 2000.
Simply enter the number on the egg and you will find out where it comes from.
All eggs from European countries monitored by the Association for Controlled Alternative Animal Husbandry KAT are covered by the scheme. In addition to the name and address you can access uptodate pictures of the laying farm, henhouse and hens.
KAT was established in 1995 and is now the most important monitoring body for the origin assurance and traceability of eggs from alternative henrearing systems in Germany and neighbouring EU countries.
