HDB Converter

The HDB Converter is a simple to use application that allows the user to easily convert numbers between hexadecimal, decimal and binary. This is useful for software and embedded hardware developers as well as system admins or anyone else working with ip subnets.

For added convenience LED bits, located at the bottom of the page, can be clicked to turn a specific bit on or off. Notice that the binary text box matches the LED bits where 0 is indicated as the LED being off and 1 indicates the LED being lit, or on. You can also use the incremental buttons on either side to add to or subtract one from the current value.

To convert a decimal number you simply follow these steps:
1. Touch the decimal area text box. You should see the area highlight slightly and the text box should be cleared of any values.

2. You can now use the numbered buttons in the center of the application to enter a number between 0 and 255 and then touch the Convert button. You should now see that the correct binary and hexadecimal values are generated. Notice that if you enter a number that is higher than 255 the number is automatically changed to the max value and that is then converted to the correct binary and hexadecimal values.

The same steps can be followed to convert binary or hexadecimal values. Note that the value entry buttons are automatically restricted to the type of value you are looking to convert.

Restrictions are as follows:
Binary 0 1
Decimal 0 9
Hexadecimal 0 F
