ErlangBC

ErlangBC quickly provides the essential planning tools needed for managing call centers, help desks, and other queued service functions. It features:
– An Erlang B solution for finding the grade of service provided by a given number of lines at a given rate of request arrivals for a given handling time.
– An Erlang B solution for finding the number of lines necessary to provide a specified grade of service.
– An Erlang C calculation of the number of service agents needed to meet a service level goal.
– An Erlang C estimation of the service level, agent occupancy, proportion of calls or customers waiting, and average wait time for a specified number of agents on duty.
Additionally, you may create two useful charts:
– A plot of agents needed to meet changing service demands, such as might be found on different work shifts, different seasons, weekdays versus weekends, and so forth.
– A comparison showing the service levels and waiting times for different number of agents for a given demand rate. This chart might show, for example, that adding one or two agents to a shift could improve service level from 70 or 75 percent to a desired 80 percent within a specified number of seconds.
