TrueSpeed is a handy application that turns your BlackBerry PlayBook into a digital speedometer, complete with navigation information and HeadsUp Display functionality.

Using the built in GPS, TrueSpeed has the ability to set your displayed speed to Kilometers Per Hour, Miles Per Hour, and Knots, so whether you are on a train, a bus, in a car, or on a boat, youll always know what speed you are traveling at!

Heading information, also provided by the GPS, ensures that even the most directionally challenged of people will know which direction they are traveling.

HUD mode mirrors the navigation direction, current speed and speed units, so that the BlackBerry PlayBook can be mounted facing a vehicles windscreen with speed and navigation information projected onto the drivers field of view!

Tip: It can take up to 15 minutes to receive a GPS Satellite Fix in some circumstances. To ensure a quick fix is received, please ensure your device has a clear view of the sky.

Note: Heading information is only displayed while TrueSpeed detects movement, in order to avoid heading changes while stationary.
