Simple Web Server

Transfer files from your BlackBerry with the speed of WIFI to another device by using only the browser!

Simple Web Server allows you to connect with the browser of another device like a computer, phone, etc to your BlackBerry and view all files and folders including the sdcard. You can also use it as a web server, when a folder is opened in the web browser the application will first search for index.html and if not found it will list all the files and folders unless directory listing is disabled on the settings page.

Images can be viewed from the browser and large files can be downloaded fast since we optimized our code to handle large files. However, the speed of downloading large files will be lower than your actual WIFI speed since your BlackBerry has some limitations in the transfer speed.

You also have the possibility to delete files from the browser. So when you make a photo and get back home, just start the web server with two clicks, download the image onto your computer and delete it! Of course you can disable this option on the settings page.

How to use it:
1. Make sure you are connected to a WIFI network
2. Click the Web URL button of the application and remember the URL
3. Press the Start Server button
4. Go to your computer or other device that is connected to the same WIFI network
5. Start the browser and fill in the URL from step 2 and press enter
6. Now you can see all the files on your device from the browser!

Features:
Set the server root so, for example, people who access your BlackBerry can only see your pictures folder
Set the port of the web server, default is port 80
Allow access to your BlackBerry through wifi with the use of a browser
Allow or disallow the listing of files and folders
Allow or disallow the possibility to delete files from the browser
Enable the web server to auto start when your device starts
Keep the backlight on when the web server is running
Allow the web server to connect every 5 minutes to a set url so you can get the external ip of the server
ADVANCED: allow other connections besides wifi. This allows you to let people access the web server through, for example, your providers internet connection. Also, most providers dont allow server connections so it wont work on most devices. Of course wifi will always work!

Possible problems you can encounter but probably will not:
When you get an error stating Port in use it means another application is using the web server port at that moment or Simple Web Server has been quit while there was still a connection. When you wait a moment or reboot your device the port should be free again, however, you can also change the port on the settings page and use the server directly
If you get an error stating Tunnel failed it means something is wrong with your wifi connection. It could be that your BlackBerry isnt connected anymore or that your device just lost the connection for a few seconds.
