Name Picker
Name Picker is a handy tool specially designed for new parents, as well as writers looking for inspirations when naming their characters. You can find the perfect name for your new baby; build a list of your favorite names or simply learn the meaning and origin of a name. All these are accomplished through an easy-to-nevigate interface, backed by a database of more than 1,700 commonly used names in Western languages.
On the main screen, you can browse all names for inspirations, sort names by gender, randomly pick a name, or type the keyboard to search for names and meanings with a particular keyword. A Name window will appear when any name is selected. The window contains detailed info about the name, such as origin, gender and meaning. You can select the name for your favorites list with the click of a checkbox.
The Favorites screen is a list of all the names youve selected from the Names screen. It helps you track your selections and pick the name for your baby or character. You can also send your list via email by clicking the Email menu button.
Name Picker is compatible with BlackBerry OS 5.0 and above. An SD Card is preferred to store the names database. The app also allows you to save the database into the internal memory on BlackBerry Bold 9000 and BlackBerry Storm.
